Popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma has revealed why he has had no wedding ring on his finger in six years, despite being happily married.
The comedian, who has been married to his wife, Christabel for over six years, has always gone without his wedding ring, and this has raised eyebrows, with many people wanting to understand the reasons behind his refusal to go about with the nuptial band.
At a time when celebrity marriages are hitting the rocks, fans have also been wondering how Bovi has managed to stay strong in his own marital affairs.
Bovi, who had a good explanation for his ‘missing’ ring, also disclosed what keeps his marriage going.
According to him, “Marriage? It affects many artistes. But there are married successful entertainers. What’s good for the goose may not be good for the gander.”
“My wedding ring lasted only one week. I don’t like rings. And my wife understands. We follow a practical approach to marriage. A ring doesn’t stop me from being good or bad,” he said.
Bovi, who began his career in April 2007, starred in the sitcom Extended Family, which he produced, wrote, and packaged. The show was very popular, and by 2008, Bovi was leading comedy shows and events throughout Nigeria.
